Where to sleep, hotels and accommodation Cyprus

Villas, hotels, country lodges… you are spoiled for choice when it comes to accommodation in Cyprus. The classification by categories and stars corresponds to European standards. Limassol is surely the most interesting anchorage point being at equal distance from Larnaca, Paphos and Nicosia, but also close to beaches, archaeological sites and the Troodos massif.

As the hotel capacity is still a little insufficient in summer, it is advisable to book well in advance.

You have a wide choice of hotels (with kitchen) or rentals. The hotel or lodge + rental vehicle formula booked before departure is a good alternative for a holiday in Cyprus, certainly cheaper than finding each service separately once there.

Cypriot incoming agencies benefit from better rates with hoteliers than individual visitors, so you can call on them to find you accommodation that suits your budget. Limassol, Larnaca and Ayia Napa have complete tourist facilities. As for the city of Paphos, it is beginning to acquire large hotel complexes like its neighbors. But caught in the race to catch up, it gradually loses its charms of yesteryear.

Youth hostels

There are several in Nicosia, Limassol and Paphos open all year round and, at Troodos, open in July and August.

There are 4 AJs in Cyprus: in Larnaca, Paphos, Kyrenia and Protaras. For more information on the Hostelling International.

Camping site

Campsites can be found in Limassol, Geroskipou, Troodos, Feggari, Famagusta, Polis and Kyrenia. In general, we find land near the beaches.

Wild camping is also possible. In winter, coastal areas are more camper friendly than the cold mountainous areas inland. We are then more inclined to ski on Mount Olympus ...

Agrotourism: rural lodges, inns,
houses, guest rooms ...

Wherever you travel in Cyprus you will find old villages with traditional architecture, where lifestyles have hardly changed for many years. You can experience the peacefulness of rural Cyprus life through the program ofagrotourism. This program was set up in 1996 by the government to encourage the restoration of traditional houses, to safeguard the charming rustic dwellings left abandoned by the Cypriot peasants, gone to town or abroad in search of a better life. This label is issued by the Ministry of Tourism.

The architecture of these houses is faithfully preserved, but they are refurbished to meet the needs of modern comfort. Some of these accommodations even have a swimming pool.

In these gîpension. The different units are scattered all over the village, but tenants gather around the pool or at the tavern during meal times.

Most of the lodgings are high up, which ensures cool nights, ideal for resting.

Very popular from April to the end of October, this formula is very suitable for self-drive tours (car + reserved accommodation), because you can radiate from a central point or make relays between the coast, the Troodos and the 'Akamas by changing their accommodation at each stage thanks to the extensive network of these rural houses.

Today, there are around one hundred establishments with the agrotourism label in Cyprus.

Cyprus offers establishments of all categories, ranging from 1 to 5 stars, designated as simple, simple comfort, good comfort, luxury and great luxury. The tourist office publishes a free directory of all the hotels in the country with addresses, telephone numbers and price indications. If you choose July or August for your vacation, it is prudent to book in advance.

During the low season between mid-November and mid-March, most hotels grant significant discounts (except for Christmas and New Year's holidays).

Rental of hotels and villas

Formula very suitable for families, these are apartments of 2 or 3 bedrooms with equipped kitchen. You benefit from the classic services of a hotel: daily cleaning, restaurant, bar and swimming pool. Most of the villas are modern and comfortable constructions, facing the sea.

To be reserved in advance. Latecomers can check availability at the Cypriot Tourism Office booking offices: at Larnaca and Paphos airports, and at Limassol port.
