Travel to Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego

It's true, the image is overused but the southernmost city in the world remains a real curiosity. The traveler who disembarks by road can only be amazed by the spectacle he discovers when arriving in Ushuaia. And again, the astonishment is nothing compared to the wonders accessible by leaving the city.

The last island of civilization

Ushuaia is located in Patagonia, dear to one of our singer compatriots living there. This land of fire is wedged between the Andes Cordillera to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the Rio Negro to the north and the Strait of Magellan to the south.

This situation, which happily mixes mountain, sea and rivers, is at the base of the fascination of humans for this lost territory. The region is indeed rich in incredible landscapes, which illustrate an always extremely wild nature, as evidenced by the flora and especially the fauna.

At the very bottom of Patagonia is Tierra del Fuego, accessible after crossing the famous Strait of Magellan and if you go a little further down you find Ushuaia, the main city of the archipelago, famous for its location: it is the last point of civilization before the Antarctic, but where you can still find a hotel.

So many words that smell of adventure and evoke the stories of sailors as well as mountaineers. The land of fire is a real wild land.

A goal that is only a starting point

For many travelers, Ushuaia means the end of a journey. In fact, this colorful city constitutes a real starting point to discover a living nature which is still preserved.

From the center of the city, you can walk alongside both the ocean and the mountains, which constitute as many invitations. You can take a cruise on the Beagle Channel and discover the fjords, cliffs, bays and their inhabitants: penguins, albatrosses ...

Cormorants at the Beagle Channel

If you prefer hiking, Tierra del Fuego National Park, between mountains and rivers, is a great animal observation area. It is the kingdom of silver foxes, beavers, condors and other wild geese.

Sailors eager for adventure can easily reach Cape Horn while the more cautious can take the little train to the end of the world which meanders through the mountains and crosses steep reliefs.
