After pickup by minivan from your hotel in a neighborhood in Rio, travel to the Tijuca Rainforest with your knowledgeable guide to begin your hike. Before you start, your guide will give you a brief overview of hiking and safety tips and then lead you to a beautiful waterfall that is near the entrance to the park.
Join the Bom Retiro trail and start hiking! Hike through the rainforest, learn about the ecosystem and its native plants, flora and fauna from your expert guide. The moderate hike will take around 1 hours and will take you up to Pico da Tijuca, Rio's highest peak at 3 feet (353 meters). From this incomparable vantage point, experience spectacular views of Rio, Guanabara Bay, and sights like the Engenhão and Maracanã stadiums.
Also, spend time soaking up the views and stocking up on water and snacks (not provided: bring your own), then drive back to your hotel with your guide.
