Visit two out-of-the-ordinary sights on a full-day tour from Barcelona. You'll ride the cogwheel railway to the summit of Montserrat, visit Montserrat Monastery, and relax on the beach in picturesque Sitges. Best of all, this partially guided tour will give you plenty of time at each sight.

    Highlights

    • Done in English
    • Day trip (destination A to B)
    • All entrance fees included
    • Free drinks included
    • Rail tour

The first stop is at the Benedictine monastery of Montserrat, founded in the 11th century. The Montserrat mountains provide a mystical backdrop for the Virgin of Montserrat, patroness of Catalonia, who is venerated in sanctuary in the Royal Basilica Monastery.

While in Montserrat, you will be transported to the top of the mountain by the cogwheel train for panoramic views, and enjoy the audio-visual presentation of the monastery, Montserrat Portes Endins (History of Montserrat).

Next you will travel to cosmopolitan Sitges, which was a meeting place for Modernist writers, musicians, critics, sculptors and painters in the 1980s and has been called the Mecca of Modernism.

In Sitges you can relax on the beach, stroll and spend some time shopping for the shops. Your ticket includes discounts at many shops, restaurants and places of interest in Sitges.
