The best neighborhoods to sleep in Seville

Before choosing your hotel, the first advice I can give you is to pay attention to the neighborhood in which it is located. The districts of downtown Seville are not very extensive but it is a point to which it will still be necessary to pay particular attention.
Seville is divided into 5 main districts:

The Historic Center of Seville

The historic center of Seville will really be the neighborhood to favor. It is the most beautiful of the city's districts, it is here that the main unmissable attractions of Seville are located such as the cathedral, the Alcazar as well as a multitude of bars and restaurants. Much of the historic center is made up of small, narrow, car-free streets. It is very pleasant to walk around and get lost in this maze of small streets. The historic center district is undoubtedly the best area to stay in Seville. In addition, you will find a wide choice of accommodation, hostels, hotels or apartments.

The Macarena district and Alameda de Hércules

This district is located in the north of the city of Seville, right next to the historic center. It is in this district that the famous Metropol Parasol is located. It is a very lively district with many shops and places to go out. This district is the “bohemian” district of Seville. Its proximity to the historic center and its activities can make it a neighborhood to stay in during a stay in Seville.

Outside the walls and Maria Luisa Park

The Maria Luisa Park district is also located very close to the historic center. Glued to the south of the center of Seville, this district has fewer accommodations. It is essentially made up of Maria Luisa Park, the Spanish Steps, various museums and the Aquarium. The North of this district is a very good location where to stay in seville. The proximity to the historic center is a plus.

Triana

Triana is a neighborhood located just opposite the historic center, on the other side of the Guadalquivir. This district was originally a distinct city from Seville. These two ancient cities are now united. The area is relatively lively with shops but also historic places such as churches or the old Castillo San Jorge, now converted into a covered market. This district is pleasant, not far from the historic center, it can also be a good alternative for cheap accommodation in Seville.

The Charterhouse

The Cartuja district is located northwest of the historic center of Seville, on the other side of the Guadalquivir, just north of the Triana district. This district, slightly out of the way, is a modern district completely renovated a few years ago for the Universal Exhibition of 1992. Even today, constructions follow one another. There is an exhibition center with the Caixa Forum, ultra modern, the Torre Sevilla, the largest tower in Seville mainly made up of offices, an amusement park or even a huge urban park. Having been there several times, I do not necessarily advise you to stay in this district which seemed to me to be very quiet and sorely lacking in life.

To sum up, if you are looking for a place to sleep in Seville, I strongly advise you to opt for the historic center of the city, which combines the calm of the many small streets with the nearby bustle of the busier streets.

The boutique Hotel Corral del Rey is the hotel I stayed at on my first visit to Seville. A charming little hotel ideally located a few hundred meters from Seville Cathedral.
Some will wonder what a "Boutique Hotel" is. A “Boutique Hotel” is a hotel that must meet the following criteria:

– Be housed in a period building with a particular history
– Have a unique charm and decoration
– Provide personalized service to its customers
– Not have more than fifty rooms
The Boutique Hotel El Corral del Rey meets all these criteria. The rooms are very spacious, the decoration neat. You can enjoy a pleasant roof terrace with a small swimming pool to cool off.
