Are you spending two days in Côte-d'Or and want to discover the region's must-sees, but also to get off the beaten track? Why not try out the circuit called “Having a head and legs”? Its program offers a nice summary of activities allowing you to exercise gently, to visit natural or heritage sites, or to please your taste buds thanks to the Burgundy gastronomy!
Le first day, your morning will start in Montbard, where you will rent a bike to ride quietly along the Burgundy canal to the Grande forge de Buffon. This beautiful 18th century industrial site is celebrating its 250 years in 2018. The event is also part of the “EpiquesEpoques” theme. After having feasted at the restaurant Le Marronnier in Buffon, a small "digestive" stroll in the Buffon park in Montbard is in order.
You will then set course for the Abbey of Fontenay, in Marmagne, a superb Cistercian site listed as a Unesco heritage site and which celebrates its 2018 years in 900 (more info on this event here). At the end of the day, go to the Château de Courban where you will spend the night and enjoy a moment of relaxation in its spa before going to dinner.
Le next day In the morning, you will take the Route du Crémant, the famous sparkling wine from the Châtillonnais region, to be consumed in moderation. Not to be missed : OenoCentre Ampélopsis in Massingy or the Winegrower Museum - Domaine Sylvain Bouhélier in Chaumont-le-Bois. We then advise you to have lunch at the Côte-d'Or restaurant in Châtillon-sur-Seine before going, in the afternoon, to visit the Musée du Pays Châtillonnais which exhibits the famous vase of Vix, the oldest and imposing antique vase known to this day.
