This afternoon tour begins with a panoramic tour of Salzburg that will give you the opportunity to see as many historical and cultural highlights as possible in the city where Mozart was born. Then you experience the breathtaking beauty of one of Austria's most beautiful regions – the Lake District just beyond the gates of Salzburg.

Your tour will start from Mirabell Square and take you through Mozarteum, the new part of the City, then move on to Mozart's Residence. Continue on the Staatsbrücke in the baroque Old Town with its resplendent Dome and the neighborhood party.
Passing by Nonnberg Abbey you can see Leopoldskron Castle, used as the home of the von Trapp family in the film, 'The Sound of Music'. The tour will then return to Mirabell Square where the tour of the lakes and mountains will begin with a panoramic view of Salzburg. You will be introduced to many scenic and historic sites on the way to the beautiful Lake District, such as the impressive Fuschl hunting castle, now a luxury hotel, where Prince Archbishops spent many seasons.
In Saint Wolfgang it is time to visit the famous gothic altarpiece by Michael Pacher, and there will be a stop at the Auberge du Cheval Blanc for refreshments. From Saint Wolfgang, you are able to enjoy a 25 minute boat ride (1 May to 26 October only) to Saint Gilgen, where Mozart's mother was born, on the other side of Lake Wolfgang.
Passing Huttenstein Castle, you will continue along the Mondsee. The constantly changing landscape with contrasts will make this visit an unforgettable memory and is a must for any visitor to Salzburg.
