Leaving Melbourne, we drive southeast to reach Moonlit Sanctuary Conservation Park. You will encounter endangered species such as cute koalas in their natural habitat, wallabies, kookaburras, Cape Barren geese and an array of other colorful birds and reptiles.
We continue our journey to Phillip Island, home of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and our famous little penguins. Arriving at Phillip Island depending on the time of year and your particular interest, we will visit Woolamai Beach to see the surfers hitting the waves. From there, we will head to the west side of the island to take in the magnificent views of Bass Strait and the Nobbies, a rock formation that is home to seals and seabirds. During the warmer months From October to March you will go to the town of Cowes where you will have free time to dine (own expense) wherever you wish. During the cooler months of April to September, you'll return to Melbourne after the Penguin Parade early enough to dine (own expense) at one of the city's fabulous restaurants.
The highlight of the evening is the Penguin Parade at the Visitor Centre, during which you can admire the little penguins, also called little penguins, returning to their burrows after spending a day at sea. black and white get out of the water and wade across the beach to their nest. You will have the opportunity to observe the penguins more closely when you go to the Visitor Center, passing in front of the only “bridge for penguins” which allows the penguins to return to their nest by taking a different route. Your tour includes the Penguin Plus experience, where you'll see penguins from an exclusive viewing platform and boardwalk.
