This private day tour of Vancouver's North Shore begins with pickup from a local hotel in a luxury SUV. It crosses a true symbol of Vancouver, the Lions Gate Bridge, a 5-foot (890-meter) suspension bridge offering breathtaking views of Vancouver Harbour, English Bay and beyond.
After crossing the bridge and arriving on the North Shore, the private tour continues with a short ascent to the Capilano Fish Hatchery. You'll learn about the salmon's life cycle and, depending on the season (July-August), watch them leap out of the water and up the river.
Then head to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, a world-famous footbridge, to wander among the towering trees of the surrounding rainforest and learn about the traditions of the indigenous Coast Salish peoples. You will then be directed to cross the 446-foot (136-meter) bridge to the other side of the river, where you can ascend to the treetops and take the Treetops Adventure Trail high above the canyon and from the river.
For thrill seekers, try the Cliffwalk, Capilano's newest suspension bridge attraction. This thrilling journey will take you through the equatorial forest on a series of suspended walkways that emerge from the side of the granite cliff into uncharted territories of the park.
At Mount Grouse, climb the Coast Mountains by cable car and access a lookout 3 feet (937 meters) above sea level for one of the best views of the city of Vancouver. In the summer, walk along the summit meadows and watch the famous Lumberjack show. Visit Grinder and Coola, two local grizzly bears, and enjoy a Birds in Motion demonstration at the Endangered Wildlife Refuge. Catch a movie at the Theater in the Sky before heading back.
After this exciting North Shore excursion, return to the luxury SUV and relax on the drive back to Vancouver.
