During this cultural tour, you will visit Bo Kaap, also known as the Malay Quarter of Cape Town. Many of the inhabitants are descendants of people from Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Malaysia who were enslaved by the Dutch in the 17th and 18th centuries. The neighborhood is well known for the brightly painted houses that line the steep, narrow streets.



Continue to Langa, the oldest official township, before continuing to Gugulethu township to see local artisans at work. Then you will visit Khayelitsha, the largest and fastest growing township in South Africa, with its vibrant culture and people. Visit a shebeen (tavern) to meet and interact with the local community.


The Sunday tour will include a visit to a religious service in Langa.
