Highlights

  • Done in English

The former British colonial capital Belize City is the only real urban space in the country, and the commercial and cultural center of Belize. The city contains both the main seaport and a colorful mix of around a third of the country's 250.000 inhabitants.

On this guided tour around historic Belize City, you'll see many places of interest, including the ancient swing bridge over Haulover Creek.

You will also visit the oldest Anglican cathedral in Central America, St. John's Cathedral, built of bricks used as ballast in ancient sailing ships. Directly across the street you will visit the Government House which is now a museum known as the Maison de la Culture.
